working on an existing project
-
Hi, I’m working on updating an existing website for my client. the website is already hosted on WordPress (premium plan), but how can I edit this website again? must I ask for some sort of sharing link from the client or previous designer so it can appear on my WordPress account? thank you.

Hi,
You can have the owner of the website transfer the account to you using the following instructions:

Hi there @yaeliwolff what is the address of the WPcom website? Is the WPcom site currently under your account or your client’s account?
If the site was under your WPcom account and you’ve transferred ownership of the site to your client, they will need to add you back as a user in order for you to continue working on their site. They can invite you following this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/#adding-users-to-your-site It’s most likely they’ll need to invite you as Admin, but there is an explanation of the various user roles on that same support guide.
Let us know if you have any other question about this.
@dillweed5446 – Thanks for helping out, however, transferring ownership of a domain would not solve this issue. I believe you meant this support guide? https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
Also, in case you haven’t seen it, Staff have published a guide to volunteering in our community forums that has loads of great tips and tricks. You can find it here:

Thank you justjennifer. I re-read the support guide, and will definitely use the resources available there in the future.
