  Hi
  Im starting to build my own website in wordpress and thought i would try out a free site first to see how things go. I can’t seem to get beyond setting up a header and 3 pages. Is this all it allows you to do or do you need to pay in order to set up your site properly?

  There’s lots you can do with a free plan, but you do need a reasonable amount of content uploaded to posts/pages to have something to work with. See:
