Worpress Ad Positioning
-
I understand that WordPress retains the right to display adverts on free WordPress websites. What I don’t understand is why those, rather unprofessional looking ads, have to appear bang in the middle of the webpage.
A) It looks unprofessional – it looks as if I have been unprofessional;
B) It ruins the appearance of the webpage; and
C) It can only ruin the first-time impression/experience of visitors to the webpage.Can they not be repositioned to the footer or side bar (bottom)?

Hi there,
We have always displayed ads on free sites at the bottom of the first post on the front page of the site, and at the bottom of individual posts and pages right above the sharing buttons and comment section.
Ads in the footer and sidebar were added last year, but the ads you’re referring to are the original ads that have been appearing for as long as we’ve shown ads on WordPress.com.
If you don’t want ads to appear on your site, you can remove them by upgrading to any of our paid plans.
