Would like my web address to appear as www.dtek.co.uk

  I registerd the domain dtekuk.wordpress.com with you. I allready have the domain http://www.dtek.co.uk I’m happy to leave my website with wordpress, but would like the address to appear as http://www.dtek.co.uk when customers access the page. not dtekuk.wordpress.com. Is this possible?move to my domain

  Hi there,

  You certainly can add a domain which you already have registered elsewhere! That is a service which we have called “Domain Mapping.” You can read more about it right here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Once you have domain mapping set up, you’ll need to also change your domain’s DNS to point towards us. This is covered in that same article, but I’ll just let you know that the nameservers you’ll need to set it to are:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  That should get your domain set up on our systems! Let me know if you have any questions.

  Looks like my web host is unable to change Name Server records. What is involved in transferring my wordpress site to my hosted server?

  I’m very sorry to hear that! It’s quite unusual for a domain registrar to be unable to change a domain’s nameservers.

  In that case, transferring your blog from a WordPress.com site to a WordPress.org one is not overly complicated.

  Otherwise, you’ll need to install WordPress from http://wordpress.org/ on a hosting provider. We have some recommendations at http://get.wp.com/hosting/
