Would like to add a signature to my .wordpress.com site
-
Hey everyone, I have been trying and trying to find a way to add a signature to my wordpress posts, but since I am a .wordpress.com user, I don’t have the plugin feature.
Is there another way to do this? Someone mentioned on here that if you get into your .php file or something you can change that, but I have no idea how to.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You’re referring to plugins which are allowed only on the self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different, here are some info about the differences between them: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/.
You have your blog on WordPress.com, though, therefore any of the .php or plugins features can be applied to your case.
What you can try is to add a text widget with your signature, then use a bit of CSS magic to move the widget to the footer.
In order to do that (the CSS thing) you need to get the CSS upgrade .If I can express my personal opinion, I would first give it a go to another theme before diving into all of that. The Mystique theme you’ve got in use has been discontinued, so it would be better for you to pick another theme which is more updated and that maybe can already have the footer widget area to customise.
Hope this is helpful and let me know if you have any other questions about that :)

When you said that since I have a wordpress.com as my blog, that “therefore any of the .php or plugins features can be applied to your case.” Did you mean that they CANNOT be used??

Hello @dangerouslynormalspoonie,
Yes, I meant they CANNOT, sorry for the confusion!
Plugins and other .php edits cannot be used on your wordpress.com website as this type of customisation and edits are not allowed. What I’ve said in my previous comment remains. You can go around the problem by getting the CSS upgrade or finding another theme that can fits your footer signature requirement.

I did a little research for you. I just run a query on Google :)
I found some themes that feature a footer widget area:
– Canard
– Sela
– Gazette
– Dicot (Premium theme, $67)Most of them are presented with pictures layout etc, but according to your current template you maybe don’t need to embed many images, and I think it’s something that can work out pretty well on all of them anyway.
Hope that is helpful! Give them a go by using the preview option. You can also try to activate them and see how they looks, you can always go back by activating your old theme :)

Yeah, I found the footer widget area, but I have no idea how to add a signature. I will try to find some info. So far not having much luck though, :/

A signature is an image and you can create an image and upload it and embed it into every post and page or display it in a text widget.
For uploading images into posts and pages see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/adding-images-to-posts-or-pages/
Here are more details about the options for uploading images http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/04/26/images-the-three-link-options/For troubleshooting images see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/troubleshooting-images/
For displaying images in text widgets see here

So I cannot upload a picture and have it automatically added to each and every post? I would have to do it each time??

Yes, as stefaniamattana indicated above, unless you purchase an annually renewable Premium upgrade, and do the requited CSS editing, you will have to enter it into each one.
See here for details on purchasing the annually renewable Premium bundle http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ that contains a custom design upgrade required for CSS editing:

You can also post there prior to purchasing an upgrade to get an answer to whether or not what you want to do can be accomplished via CSS editing.
