Would like to host with WordPress

  I would love to host my site with WordPress – but would like to know the differences between hosting with GoDaddy and hosting with Automattic. Would I have access to CPanel? Would I have access to A Records, etc. ? I’d really like to switch over! Huge fan and I’ll be in Nashville on Dec. 1 with the biggest grin on my face.

  Hi @alluringmedia2016,

  You have probably already seen our plans/upgrades page but here is the link anyway:

  There are a several things that will be different here at WP.com. Mostly limitations in access to files and settings that you have been accustomed to be able to change at a file level.

  The most important things to note
  1. No you do not have Panel/file access or even FTP access even at the highest level.
  2. Yes you do have access to your A/CNAME/ETC records starting with the Personal Plan.
  3. CSS customization is allowed at the Premium level.
  4. Plugins and commercial themes are only allowed at the Business level

  WP.com brings a few core things to the mix, that balance some of its limitations, mainly you get a robust server, seamless backups, support from community (if site is free), email/live chat support for paid. Jetpack is included in all Plans.
