Would like to return to site after adding product to PayPal shopping cart

  • Unknown's avatar

I have added a PayPal shopping cart to my site and it all works well, within certain limitations.
The only thing I would like to change is having the button add the product to the cart but then automatically return to the site, not stay on PayPals cart page.
    Anybody have any suggestions?

    Hi @greyrocket,

Are you looking for help with partigems.com site? Also, which WordPress.com Plan(Personal/Premium/Business) are you subscribed to? If you could help me with the details, we can provide you with the best options.

    Thanks!

    Hi Pavanraheja
Yes, Parti Gems is one site. The plan is Premium.
I understand that if I upgrade to Business I can use WooCommerce, but that isn’t an option for me just now.
I would like to continue with the PayPal cart option for now.

    Thanks

  • Hi there,

The Add To Cart button you’re using is just a simple HTML link that goes to PayPal. It doesn’t include any instructions to PayPal of what to do once the user is there.

If it’s possible to have someone automatically return to your site, that’s something that needs to be configured on PayPal’s end, but there’s no way to it from ours.

In your Paypal account you can tell to return back to the original sight. If you are using google adwords and need to track conversions this is a way to do it…

    Hi Rengized
Is that returning after it has added a product to the cart, or after checkout?
I can see where the url is entered for returning after checkout and also the url to continue shopping, but not for auto returning after it adds a product to the cart.
Can you help with details of where in PayPal I can set this up please?
