wp-admin link

Is the wp-admin link hidden/removed for new users, in the new interface? If so; why? It was such a good link to have. I’m fully aware of that I can manually type this in to my browsers address-box, but still …
As things stand today, I don’t feel that the «new interface» is fully functional. At least not to the WordPress experience we’ve come to know and love.
Just to name two examples; there’s no way of uploading a new ‘favicon’ from Settings [in case you use a theme that doesn’t support it, Twenty Sixteen for example].
Posting from the «new editor» doesn’t fully work either. You add a picture, and want it to open in a new tab. No such option anymore.
I’m convinced this must have been brought up in a different thread, and I apologize beforehand for posting here, but I just couldn’t find it.
There could be ways to perform these two actions from the «new interface/editor» and I’m just not able to see them?! If that’s not the case, I have a third question: Why put it out there, when it’s not the finished product? Don’t they realise it gets confusing to the users?

It was removed on March 18th, 2015 and it will NOT be returned because it’s in Staff’s best interest to have us all use the new editor and provide feedback so it can be improved.
The feedback thread is here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/editor-feedback?replies=730
There are known issues with images in the new editor https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/editor-feedback?replies=730
If you use the classic editor there aren’t any issues. You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and for viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/

Like I said, in the first paragraph of my initial post, I’m fully aware of how to get to the wp-admin.
