WP Admin Link Missing
-
I recently made a new account when I changed the name of my blog. My old account had a link to my WP Admin page at the bottom of the Configure sub-menu in the My Site menu. My new account does not seem to have this link, despite having transferred over ownership of the blog to it. I know that I can still access the WP Admin menu by adding wp-admin after my blog address, but this link was quite useful. Is there any way to recover it?

WordPress has done everything they can to force us to use their new editor. Yet, it still is not as good as the old one. Then they keep sabotaging the old one to force us to the new one.
Just now I needed to link a photo in an article so it could be clicked on when viewing and it would show the larger version. There is no way to do it in the new editor. Reading help, they sent me to wp-admin, which is back to the old editor.
And, yes, that link at the bottom was missing. It was just there a few days ago.
I’ve been with WP for almost 9 yrs., have loved it, but not this new editor.leesbirdblog.wordpress.com

You must be logged in under the exact same username that registered the site to be able to access the site. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
*Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your blog.
I recommend bookmarking that link or memorizing it.
To start a new post in the classic editor use http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/wp-admin/link-add.php
*Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your blog.

Thanks, timethief, I knew how to get there, but why don’t they fix the photo editing in the new editor and then we wouldn’t have to hop back in forth. I am getting ready to teach some new bloggers, and they will be exposed to the new editor, but I will have to send them to the old/wp-admin, to do certain things. That will confuse them. The new editor would have been okay if they had not deleted capabilities we had before.

Understand that I have been here for over 10 years. I archived my blogs and threw in the towel because the continual changes were such a p-ss off that I could no longer cope. What really p-ssed me off was the asinine message on the dashboard suggesting the new improved editor was the one to use. I am a desktop user and my experience was the opposite of improvement. Everything took longer to do and was harder to achieve. Bottom line: Don’t get me started when it comes to deceptive market speak.

Frustrations CAN be forgotten IF they make the new one as good or better than the old one. So far, I have not seen that happen. OH WELL! Grin and bear it. I still like WordPress over the others. That is why the new bloggers will be taught with the WordPress platform.

I will never forget the last two years of coping with the Calypso changes. I no longer teach my clients how to use wordpress. I teach them how to use Blogger now – HA!

I originally started out in blogger, but changed to WordPress after about 6 months or less. I still prefer WP over Blogger.
