wp-admin login wont work

    I am trying to login to my wp-admin but it will not accept username and password.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I’ve been having the same problem.

    When I attempt to login, the spaces where I would normally fill in my name and password will not allow me to type anything. The only way I can sign in is to come to the Forums page and use the sign-in there. It does work, but it’s very clunky.

    The website you linked to, www.thetipsandyips.com, is a self-hosted website and I would suggest you post your question on the WordPress.org forums, https://wordpress.org/support/, as this is the forum for WordPress.com hosted websites.

    Having said that, when you go to wp-admin, there is a ‘Lost your Password’ option just below the login box where you can enter your username or email address to reset your password.

    Hello thetipsandyips,

    This is on the site thetipsandyips.com?

    It looks like that is a self-hosted WordPress from what I can see, hosted on Blue Host servers. You can always connect it with JetPack to a WordPress.com account so you can log in with a WordPress.com account but first, you will need to be able to log in to wp-admin.

    If your username and password are not working, you may want to try resetting the password by going to wp-admin and clicking “Lost your password?”

    If that fails and you get nothing sent back to you, you may want to contact Blue Host for assistance in resetting credentials via the database.

    They can reset it for as they have access to your database, being the host.

    Or you can look into this article to see if you can reset it yourself, it can be a little intimidating though if you are not familiar with databases.

    You can not type anything when you go to hoaxteadresearch.wordpress.com/wp-admin? Is that correct?
    I can not seem to replicate that issue on my end, I would recommend trying to switch browsers and see if that resolves the issue, if it does, then you can go back to your original browser, try clearing cache, check for an update, and if the problem still persists, I would look at plugins you may have added to the browser and try disabling them to see if that resolves it.
