WP Admin missing when setting up new account

  Hi there.
  I set up a WP account under a different email address today. When I tried to set up a new blog page, the WP Admin option is missing from the left-hand column. Should be under the Settings option. This WP admin really comes in handy for managing stuff on my sites. Is there some step I’m missing, maybe, when I set up the new account? What is strange is WP Admin is showing up fine under my original account.

  The decision to remove the link to WP Admin was made by Staff around the same time that the Calypso dashboard was officially released. On older accounts, the WP Admin link still exists, but new accounts won’t see it.

  What you can do is bookmark the WP Admin dashboard at whatever the https site URL is, like username.wordpress.com/ and add wp-admin/ to it.

  If you always log in to username.wordpress.com/wp-admin you’ll sidestep the New Dashboard, but there are many links within the WP Admin Dashboard that will lead you back to the New Dashboard. That’s is why I suggest bookmarking it.

  Thanks for sharing that link. That should be helpful for my future use. I was trying to show a friend how to set up a WP page when I first ran into this change. So, I’m just wondering if it’s worth showing my friend these workarounds that you shared above or just start from square one with the new format. Ultimately, I will be working in two different versions of WP so I hope I can get up to speed with the new version fast! :)

  You also access your WP-Admin by clicking the “portfolio” button under the publish settings on the left hand side. Hope that helps

  Hi. I can’t seem to findd the ‘portfolio’ button. Is it a plug in?

  @example3483-you will only see the link to Portfolio in the New Dashboard sidebar after you’ve enabled it on your site via the WP Admin Dashboard. More here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/

  If you’re never going to use the Portfolio feature, you can bookmark the link to your site’s WP Admin Dashboard instead https://username.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
