WP-Admin View Update

  • Starting January 16, 2025, we’ve rolled out the WP-Admin View for a group of new and existing users on WordPress.com. This means that several screens, like the Posts List, will now display using the WP-Admin view.

Here are the screens included in this update:

    • Posts list
    • Pages list
    • Categories
    • Tags
    • Portfolios
    • Testimonials
    • Comments

To make the transition smoother, you’ll see a notice explaining these changes the first time you access each of these screens. Please note: this is a per-user change, not a per-site change.

We believe this update will empower you to take full advantage of the wealth of educational resources and tools available for WP-Admin users across the web, helping you get the most out of your WordPress.com site.

If you have any questions, feedback, or issues related to this change, feel free to share them in the thread below. We’ll also continue updating our support documentation in the coming days to guide you through these changes.

We have also published a blog post here with more details.

Thank you for being part of the WordPress.com family! :)

Hi – I need a human response to my email please.

I am writing to address a significant issue with my account and a recent charge of $120.28 made to my card on January 16, 2025, for a service I cannot access.

My account (username: thejoyofphilanthropy) has been closed, and I am unable to log in. This has left me with no means to cancel the service or prevent further charges. It is unacceptable to charge for an account I cannot access and for which I cannot manage subscriptions.

Please take the following actions immediately:

    1. Refund the $120.28 charged to my card.
    2. Ensure no further charges are made to my account or payment method.
    3. Confirm the cancellation of any ongoing subscriptions linked to this account.

I trust you will resolve this promptly. If further documentation is needed, I am happy to provide additional details. I will escalate to the BBB and other relevant agencies if this refund is not provided in 3-5 days.

    Adam

good luck with that – I don’t think anyone with a pulse actually works at WordPress any more.

  • Hi @olympicphilanthropy – that definitely sounds frustrating. The best step forward for us to help with that charge and confirming the account it came from would be to fill out the form at https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/

the new “admin view” is one of the worst updates I’ve seen for a website. Please bring back the classic view for posts!!! It’s almost as if you’re trying to lose writers. I might be one of those jumping off this ship if things keep getting worse.

Got to be the worst update ever. If we had wanted to use the old fashioned, cluttered admin view we had the choice – now we have none. Calypso was much better UX for posts and pages. Also new stats page terrible – much better to have daily stats as default. Also more difficult to deal with post comments etc. It’s gone from being a clean interface to being a cumbersome nightmare.
