WP Admin – WP Login Loop

  Hello!

  I just transferred the ownership of a blog to this user ID, and now I cannot login to WP Admin, even after adding the /wp-admin to the blog name URL. It seems to keep redirecting me back to WP Login page.

  On My Site menu I can’t see Dashboard and/or WP Admin, either. I am able to perform other Admin tasks, though. Please help! Thanks.

  Hi linguannie,

  If you haven’t done so already, please try clearing your browser cache and WordPress.com cookies.

  You should be able to login at https://wordpress.com and access both sites from the linguannie — this account owns and therefore has Administrator privileges on both sites so there shouldn’t be any restrictions.

  Let me know if clearing your browser cache and cookies help.

  It still does not appear in My Sites, but if I manually type in /wp-admin after my blog name in URL it will take me there. I’ve cleared WordPress-related cookies, cleared caches, and restarted my laptop (MacBook Air). At least now I have access to WP Admin, though it’s not as direct as I would like (I have another blog which has WP Admin listed under My Sites menu).

  What is the address of the site you are expecting to see listed under My Sites? Once I know for sure, I can look into what is happening.

  It’s lingualounge2018.wordpress.com, but under My Sites menu bar (under Configure), I can’t see “WP Admin” selection.

  New accounts don’t have the /wp-admin link bottom left. Pretty much everything you need to do can be done right there via My Sites.
  The classic /wp-admin dashboard does still exist though if you prefer it but now you need to bookmark it in your browser:
  https://lingualounge2018.wordpress.com/wp-admin
