WP and my contact information

    Can someone tell me if WP has contacted all of its customers and are requesting contact information?

    I am rather cautious just providing contact information to any email requests. I got an email – supposedly form WP asking for it, and I’m reluctant to give it out or confirm or respond to that email.

    Hi there,

    It seems you have updated domain information recently and you might have received email to confirm updated contact information for domain.

    Still I am tagging this thread for staff attention, you can also take help through Live chat or email.

    Hi SRS,

    I’ll be happy to look into this for you. I’ve sent an email to the address on your Account Settings page and it would be great if you could send a copy of the email (including the from address) to me there.

    I can then confirm whether the email was sent by us and if it was, what you need to do next.

    Please let know if that doesn’t come through.

    Hi Gemma,
    I got your email and I responded to it. But a “Sasha” replied back to me.

    She said the email was “completely legitimate” regarding the request for updating the contact information. Her signature was ‘Happiness Engineer | WordPress.com’ also…. so I responded to it as she basically gave me instructions on howto access where the domain names’ contact information was located within our SRS WP account.

    Glad this was brought to my attention as the name of the previous website-guy/caretaker was listed for both domain names. I have updated the information for BOTH domain names and it is current as of 28NOV2018 (with MY contact info as it should be).

    As long as YOU can verify that Sasha is from your organization- I’m set then. So, is she? (I’m guessing here but am about 90% certain she is).

    Thanks for the attention to this issue. Too many of your customers, like me, just do not have the expertise we should have I suppose to do this job. But we’re the ones that volunteered to do it.

    Thanks to sachintawade for tagging this – I should have done that right off I suppose.

    As long as Sasha is who she said she is Gemma – this can be closed.

    I do not see where I can close this in this thread stream. I thought I might have 10 months ago but I could be mistaken.
