WP app not updating

    I keep updating blogs from my phone because it’s easier since I have images there. I update and publish but the photos do not appear in my blogs. It’s as if the WP app is not updating the site properly. Has anyone experienced this?

    Do you see any kind of error when uploading the images?

    I do not see error messages. The Loveland blog is one example. The photos appear on the app, but on the site it is not updated.

    I sent them to myself and was going to upload them on my computer today. It would be much easier if the post on the app were updating to the website.

  • The app should work as you expect it to regarding the images.

    If the same post is open on another device on the edit screen, while you’re updating it from the mobile app, that could potentially cause an issue. Typically you’d see something like ‘there’s a more recent version of this post available..’.

    Which version of the app do you have installed?

    And to clarify… things look as expected on your mobile device? But on the computer the images are not coming through?

    I haven’t seen the error message about a more recent post available. Normally, I try to post from my phone. I only start messing around on my computer, a work computer, when it’s not working. Things do look as expected on my phone, but the images don’t appear on the computer. I can’t seem to find the WordPress version under settings or WordPress, I apologize. Where should I be looking?

  • I am going to look at this closer. The account that you’ve posted from, though, does not have any sites registered to it. Can you share the URL of the site that you’re working on?

    One other question, do you see the missing image in the media library?

    I’m always puzzled by that. I developed a site this summer and it definitely exists. It’s http://www.motherofaroadtrip.com, but half the time I’m told I have no site. It’s super strange, since I keep updating with blogs. Yes, the media appears. Thank you so much for your help!

  • Hi @motherofaroadtrip, that site is hosted at Bluehost, but it seems you’re using Jetpack to update through our app. And it looks like maybe you’ve changed your wp-admin password.

    Can you log in at motherofaroadtrip.com/wp-admin then go to Jetpack, and disconnect and reconnect under Jetpack → Dashboard → Connections? Once it’s reconnected properly there, try reconnecting through your app.

    Unfortunately, I’m not seeing Jetpack anywhere from my dashboard. I know it used to be there! I just installed it.

    I found the version of WP. It’s 13.8.1.

  • Hm, that doesn’t seem right. The latest version of WordPress is 5.3.2: https://wordpress.org/download/

    Please try disconnecting Jetpack from WordPress.com at Jetpack > Dashboard > Site Connection > Manage Site Connection in your site’s Dashboard, then connect again when prompted.
