WP backup policy?
-
Hi,
I’m wondering what WP’s backup policy for the information on your servers? If someone were to hack into the servers and delete everything, does WP have a backup solution to restore all the information?
Thank you.

There is a brief mention that WordPress.com has a very robust backup solution here:
It’s not very descriptive, but my understanding is that there are multiple data centers in different locations where live servers and backups are kept.

And as raincoaster said, you can always export your data and download your media if you want to have a backup of your own.

If you look at that article I linked to, there’s a description on how to do it there. Essentially, you need to “export” the content of your blog (which will download all your posts, pages, and comments), and download all of the media from your media library.

You can periodically create an XML export file of your content to store on your own computer. This support doc explains the various ways to transfer your content to another blog or platform and explains how to backup your site.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/ as every post and page you create will produce a backup copy automatically on your own computer.3. If you provide full posts in the RSS feed then subscribe to the feed for backups.
4. Back-up using using Feedburner and Gmail

Note: the xml file exports links to media, and the links are only to media that are used for a Post, Page, Widget, etc. it does not contain the media files themselves.
