Hello!
I’ve been blogging for a couple of years now with my WP blog. I’ve had no problem with my social media share buttons at the end of my post ever. Until I published my latest post the other day. For some reason, my Twitter share button is stuck at ZERO! I spend most of my SM time on Twitter as opposed to FB and so I naturally have more sharing via Twitter.
I receive notifications when someone shares my post link on Twitter so it’s not because it isn’t being shared and I also have 10 comments on my latest post …ALL from my fellow Twitter users who also tweeted my post. Yet NONE of them are registering. Still stuck at ZERO!
I’ve tried doing Google searches. I wrote about it in the forum with no replies yet. (yesterday) I’ve sifted thru the help options here on WP and nada.
I even tried several times now going into the sharing section in WP dashboard. Disconnection both the publicize to Twitter at the top PLUS removing Twitter button altogether. THEN I cleared my cached. THEN I logged out of WP. Rebooted my Mac. Logged back in. Re-connected to Twitter again in Sharing. Re-added the Twitter social media share button. Tweeted my blog post again.
And still…nothing. Share button for Twitter still stuck at ZERO!
Oh! One more thing maybe this might be part of the glitch as well.
When I DID publish this last post? For some reason it published on January 1, 2015! I just hit the PUBLISH NOW button. I didn’t schedule the post to be published at a certain date and time. Once I realized the post had the wrong date, I opened the calendar and corrected the date and hit publish. This changed the url for the post. So the original url with the January 1 in the url no longer exists.
So could that be a reason why the Twitter share seems to have malfunctioned?
Clueless here!
Help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you try changing from the “Official Buttons” to “Icon + Text” as shown here?
That setting will be here:

Thanks for letting me know! My post is still being shared on Twitter and also received another comment on it today yet share button still reading zero.
Any idea what is going on yet?

It looks like it’s registering some retweets now! Up to 10! Unfortunately it isn’t registering all that were missed but at least it’s ‘breathing’.
Any idea what caused this so I can avoid it when publishing my next post?

I don’t believe it’s anything you’re doing on your site. Something is wrong with the Twitter count (not sure where).

Still going! Currently up to 34 and that’s just the past day! Not counting the WEEK we it was stuck when I first published! : )
This would have been a good ‘count’ too! haha
