WP Blog Windows Live Writer = 0x8002802B Error

  I have a few blogs that I post to using Windows Live Writer..I just recently added another one (simracingpaddock.wordpress.com) and when I go to add this new blog to my Windows Live Writer, I receive the following error:

  ——————————————————————————————————-a problem occurred while detecting blog settings:

  Unable to cast COM object of type ‘mshtml.HTMLMetaElementClass’ to interface type “mshtml.IHTMLElement’. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID ‘{3050F1FF-98B5-11CF-BB82-00AA00BDCE0B}’ failed due to the following error:

  Element not found. (Exception from HRESULT:0x8002802B (TYPE_E_ELEMENTNOTFOUND)).

  I’ve tried to research this issue as much as I can on my own and from what I can tell, I’m assuming that recent changes to WordPress.com blogs is that there is no longer support for Atom Publishing protocol and/or XML-RPC…as shown indicated in this article:

  Seeing as when I go into my dashboard for this domain and go under SETTINGS/WRITING..these options are NOT LISTED!

  Any help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated!
