WP comment login blocked by popup image
-
It’s not possible to login with your WP account when making comments on WP blogs. There is a popup image blocking the link to log in. Please, fix this immediately.
-
Hello there,
Can you provide a link to the site you’re looking to comment onto please?
Many thanks!
-
Any WP.com blogg really. Two examples are:
When trying to click the WP icon there is a popup image triggered and apparently covers the link somehow. At least, nothing happens when clicking. So it’s not possible to log in this way.
Thanks.

Hello there,
Thank you for that additional information.
I am unable to replicate what you’re seeing. Are you able to provide a screenshot of what you’re seeing please as this may help us to troubleshoot what you’re experiencing further.
A screenshot can be shared via https://snipboard.io/.
Many thanks in advance.

THANK YOU for asking about this. This just started happening to me too. But others who comment on my blog have not experienced this. I have tried logging into my account, then when i click on visit site it’s like I am not recognized. So i try logging in to comment and after enterring my email and name, I try clicking on the wp icon on the right, next to the twitter and facebook icons. There is a message block that pops up and says you can log in using details from these accounts…Normally that pops up and disappears. Now it remains and its placement obscures me from clicking on the wp icon.
I use firefox.
please help! -

Hey!
We’re in the midst of troubleshooting this internally.
Are you able to confirm the browser you’re using please.
Many thanks.
-
See my answer above. It works ok now. The popup image has been moved to the left so it is now possible to click the WP icon and log in.
Thanks.
-
Ah, sorry. You wanted to know the browser I’m using. It works ok now both with Firefox and Chrome.
-
It’s good to hear that it’s working. If this happens again, please let us know so we can help you troubleshoot it.

Shall we keep this in this thread or shall I start a new? Looks like the same issue again. And it was solved during 10 days but now the same error.
-
Let’s keep the conversation in this thread, as it’s still the same issue.
Can you please let me know the exact version of your browser and if you’re using any extensions?
Once I know that I’ll try and replicate it on my end and report it to our dev team.

I have tried with Firefox (104.0, 64-bit) and Chrome (104.0.5112.101, 64-bit). Same problem.

Hi, I think we were focused on translations and missed that this isn’t a translation so much as a tooltip that’s blocking the way.
We’ll file a report on this now. Thank you!
-
Ok. Yes, nothing to do with translations. It’s the tooltip popup that is blocking the WP login icon. To be honest that tooltip could just be removed. It doesn’t really add anything since there already are instructions written on the page to the left of the login icons.
Anyway, waiting for a solution.
-
FYI, now the tooltip popup has moved a little bit to the left so now it’s possible to click the WP login icon. See image. https://snipboard.io/651hp8.jpg
If it stays this way I guess I can mark this as resolved.

Hi there,
Yes, our developers were able to move the tooltip so that the login icon was accessible. Everything should work as intended now, but let us know if you run into any other issues.
Thanks!
