wp-content directory

    I am totally new to wordpress and just started a free blog on it. I want to add CAPTCHA plugin to my blog but I dont know how to do that. I searched on internet and downloaded some CAPTCHA programs but all of them say that I have to upload them to wp-content/plugins directory. I dont know where it is and how to access it. please can you tell me in step by step instructions that how I can access it and can upload those CAPTCHA programs to it.
