wp-content plugin is high amount os Admin-ajax
-
Hello,
My CPU usage has been going to 100% daily, many time throughout the day even if no one is on the site except me.
I have contacted my server host Cloudways and they informed me that “The wp-content plugin is using the most Admin-ajax.”
Here is an example of SLOW PHP PAGES: https://snipboard.io/uiYWMS.jpgI have already done the following: 1. Disabled WP_cron & added it to Cloudways 2. Blocked spammy bots + have a bot protection plugin 3. Block spammy IPs 4. Increase PHP Memory Limit: 1024
This issue has been causing people to drop off my site and not allowing me to do any edits on the site.
I am checking on GTMterics and My homepage has a loong timeline in the waterfall chart as seen here (https://snipboard.io/peDxit.jpg). This is the response: https://snipboard.io/XPDj2L.jpg.
How do I know how to fix the CPU going to 100% everyday, whenever someone is on my site with this info?
Best,
Chris -
There are two things commonly called “WordPress”.
1. WordPress the free open-source site building software from WordPress.org (this is what you used to build your website).
2. WordPress.com, a web host for sites using WordPress software.
The two are related, but completely separate entities. Please read this page for more info on how they are related:
As a completely volunteer based organization offering a free product, WordPress (the open-source software) does not have a phone number, an office, or a support team. Questions are often answered in their forums by helpful community members.
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
WordPress.com (which you have reached) is a business and does have a support team. But we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. We cannot help with sites hosted elsewhere but built with the WordPress open-source software.
Does that make sense? Let us know if not or if you have further questions.
