WP Dashboard follower notification

    Hi There,

    Since the last 3 days, on my WordPress Admin dashboard, I didn’t get any notification for any new follower of my blog. I receive any notification only on my email, when it supposed to be both (WP dasboard + Email).

    Why is this happened? Can someone help me?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
    (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
    (c) What are the usernames of these followers you did not receive any notifications for please?

    (a) I used plug n play modem & notebook
    (b) I use mozilla firefox latest version: 34.0.5. In fact this issue arises after I update my browser to their newest version.
    (c) denmasbrindhil (wp.com user) and linaramalya@… (non wp.com user. email subscriber. sorry, I can’t give you his/her full email address)

    Thanks for providing the additional information.

    I have a couple more questions.

    1) Are all of your notifications missing, or just the ones for new followers?

    For example, if someone likes or comments on one of your posts, does that notification show up on your dashboard?

    2) If you log into WordPress.com with a different browser, do the notifications show up?

    Thanks for your response.

    1) It happens only for new followers. When someone likes or comments on one of my posts, that notification show up on my dashboard nicely.

    2) Actually, I’m not very comfortable with any browser other than Mozilla, and never used any of them from the very beginning. Is there any other option for me, where I can skip this uncomfortable new application (browser) installation?

    It’s fine to skip this. Trying different browsers helps eliminate problems, but I think we can figure something out with out this step.

    I took a look at your notifications, and I believe the issue is that all the new follower notifications are collapsed into one entry rather than as individual notices. If you look at your notifications right now, you’ll see that the 3rd notification from the top is about new followers. If you click on the notification it expands to show everyone who has followed your site recently.

    Could you take a look and see if that solves the mystery?

    If not, could you tell me what day you got e-mail notification for the followers who aren’t showing up on your dashboard?

    yup. that’s correct. it expands to show everyone who has followed my site recently.

    but I noticed this already (notifications collapsed into one entry) long before recent issue arises. And everything worked just fine back then.

    The email notification dates: Dec 27, Dec 25, and Dec 23

    Btw, I don’t know if this information will helps you figured out something: I have another wp.com blog that works just fine with new follower notifications up until now.

    Just to clarify, are you saying both of your accounts are not showing new notifications, or that one account works as expected and one doesn’t?

    Yup, the other account works as expected.
    Problem (new follower notifications) happened on this account only.

    Wait. It’s weird!
    My new follower notifications, it seems to have fixed itself!
    But, why? Is there any technical explanation about this?

    Not really. The notifications may have just been delayed. I’m glad to hear they are working now.

    Please let us know if you run into problems again in the future.
