WP dot com / wp dot org
-
I started a blog (havepension-willtravel) on WordPress dot com but have now moved it to WordPress dot org. The problem is that Google still lists the original site ahead of the new one in search results. Is there a way to make Google forget the original site? I don’t want to delete it because I’m using Jetpack which requires you to have a WP dot com site. Thanks for your assistance. Wendy

Hi there, keep posting regularly on your new site and soon the old site will fall away from search engine returns, particularly so since you’ve made it Private.
Best wishes with the new site.

And just to point you in the right direction for any future assistance with your self-hosted WordPress.org site, you’ll want to head over to https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page and at https://wordpress.org/support/
Standalone WP (org) and WordPressdotcom (where we are) are different entities with different documentation and support forums; more information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums, you can register one on that page.
Again, best wishes.
