  I have watched the video on installing this widget plug-in but the user interface is not the same and I cannot find where I need to be in order to install it.

  It is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress blogs. Here’s some information about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:
