WP forbidding comments? – what's going on?

    Seems as if WP is playing games with me.
    This is now the second week my comment needs moderation.
    I already asked last week for the reason without any explanation and it took these people at least til Wednesday (from friday) to accept my contribution for the WPC.
    This week it is the same

    Hi M.R.,
    this is the same with WP. They are the site owner and want to have a look at my comments. That’s why nobody can see my entry and pingback.
    This game they are now playing with for 2 weeks.
    They even deleted a comment I posted last week without any notice or explanation. I only was asking why my entry is waiting for moderation and this week it is the same game.
    So this will be my last WP Challenge, because blog for fun and this is no fun anymore

    I would like to have some understanding of this issue, please, Support. I hate to see somebody with a site of the standing of Angela’s leave WordPress without her even being offered an explanation …

    Comment moderation is up to the blog owner, we do not interfere with it in any way.

    If you are being moderated on a particular blog, you’ll need to ask the blogger to find out why. Please note that it’s always possible that the blogger is moderating all comments as a basic way to filter out comment spam.

    THANKS for answering. If you would continue to be helpful, it would be most appreciated. This woman’s blog is completely respectable in every way; but the problem is that she’s not an anglophone but German. Is there any of the Engineers who speaks German?
    It’s truly depressing to think of Angela stomping off in a rage, and it’s all a misunderstanding. She has LOTS of followers …

    I wish i could, MacManx; but her lack of English (that I can follow) means that what I posted is all I know. if you use my link to her site you’ll know as much as I do – and also how well-read it is !!!

    Ah, I see what you mean. She’s taking part in the daily photo challenges, and her comments are being held for moderation at http://dailypost.wordpress.com/

    There are quite a lot of people participating in these challenges. There are currently 54,022,080 blogs at WordPress.com, so depending on how many people participate in a given challenge, it can take quite some time to go through all of those comments.

    I would encourage her not to give up on the challenge. After all, it’s all about bettering yourself as a blogger and photographer. :)

    I can’t. It’s happened to her for 2 weeks in a row, and she’s pissed off because it has never happened to her before. As you see, she indicates that she’s asked about it – presumably to the .de Support people – and not received a satisfactory answer.
    I guess that whatever it was, it was along the lines of what you’ve just old me: the potentially high numbers, etc., etc. Which I do comprehend would make someone with roughly 1200 followers who’s been blogging for ages fairly irritated and unsatisfied.
    Thank you very much for your input, MacMax – it is appreciated. But I fear she’s lost to us, alas!

    No problem, it could also be that we’re misunderstanding the situation.

    I hope she gets in touch with the folks at http://de.forums.wordpress.com/

    It would be a shame for her to abandon a successful blog over something like this.

    She’s looking for another platform. I could tell her not to waste her time, but she’s offended.
    She’ll probably turn up on Blogger, would be my guess …
