WP freezes while typing comment

For the last two days, every time I try to make a comment on someone’s post, the site will freeze up after I type so many words. Each time, I have to close down the site, reopen, and start typing again. But if I try to type more than just a few words “It’s good, I liked it,” it freezes up again. I just emptied cache and restarted, signed back in fresh and everything. I’m using google chrome browser. Any help is appreciated.

That sounds like a browser related issue to me.If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/ -

Will you please try downloading and using Firefox from http://browsehappy.com and report back here so we know if that clears up your issue or not?

I’m not going to download firefox, but I did just try WP on IE and it works fine. I hardly ever use IE any more, and didn’t even think about trying it. But WP doesn’t freeze on IE at all. Don’t know what the prob is with Chrome, but it I guess I’ll use IE when on WP. Thanks for your help.

Exactly which version of Chrome are your using?
And, exactly which version of IE worked for you please?
I’m asking because this information is important for Staff to know. -
IE is version 11 and is working just fine so far.
The google chrome is version Version 41.0.2272.101 m and it’s the one that freezes on me.

Do you have problems leaving comments or adding content to any other websites (like Facebook) using Chrome?
Chrome can be a bit of a memory hog, so if your hardware is more than a couple of years old and you are running a lot of newish software, that could cause a problem like you describe.
If these issues started all at one time, they could also be related to a new browser extension.
Have you added any new features to your Chrome browser recently?

Hi liz, I don’t have problems with any other website and there are no new extensions or new software running. I usually more than one window open at a time, but just did a check with only one window and got the same result. I don’t remember having this problem in the past on my blog,I took a bit of a break from here, but I probably used IE. That used to be my goto. It’s all a bit of a pain. I leave WP open on chrome, but if I want to leave a lengthy comment no someones blog, I have to go to IE, but I tried to write a blog on IE the other night and couldn’t because it wouldn’t open up the writing page the right way. So, I have to hop back a forth a bit, but oh well. My laptop is a bit old, and it runs windows 7 on a laptop that had the previous version on it, whatever that one was. That may be part of the prob, not sure.

This is likely the crux of the problem. If you don’t like switching back and forth it might be worth trying FireFox, but I understand why you might not want to add another browser.
