WP Install clobbered by website
-
I know little about building a website. I had a good website at http://www.wy7i.com. I decided to build a new website at a different URL, so I installed WordPress from my hosting webserver, but it apparently overlaid http://www.wy7i.com with a WordPress sample blog. There’s no backup I can restore to.
I’m looking down the directory structure and thinking there’s a new file that is pointing to the blog structure and I could delete that? All the pieces of the old website seem to be there, but I don’t know what I am looking for.
Can anyone help out?
Thanks,
Paul

The blog you specified at http://www.wy7i.com does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.
This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you’ll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

As noted above you need to make friends at WordPress.ORG, you are not hosted on WordPress.COM. As long as you did not delete any old files you can bring things back, but the people at WordPress.ORG can help. Several people a week stop by with the same problem as you have.
