WP is turning Embedded links into Hyperlinks
-
Help! I want to embed things onto my page, but every time I try it becomes a hyperlink instead. I am pasting the embed code directly into the ‘text’ section, and when I switch to visual the embed works, but when I update and preview it has become a hyperlink.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see that you are trying to embed something from https://quizlet.com
WordPress.com hosted sites can’t use iframe. script, object and few other HTML tags. You can see a list of allowed HTML tags at https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
Get back to me if the embed code you are trying to use is in compliance with the list of allowed HTML tags.

WordPress.COM users have code restrictions. No JavaScript, no form codes, except these https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/contact-form https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/, no tracking codes, no advertising codes, and no unsupported iframes or embeds can be used on any wordpress.COM hosted sites.
Please read:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
allowed HTML tags list – https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#html-tags
https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascript
https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#flash-and-other-embedsAll support docs are at https://en.support.wordpress.com/ where the most prominent feature on the page is the search box. A search for embeds all provide results for the only embeds that wordpress.COM supports. https://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=embeds
If your embeds are listed there as supported then please post a URL to a page or post that we can examine this behavior that you describe in after reading what follows.

@akumarjain
Unintentional overlapping response. Sorry :(P.S. As there are many new volunteers posting these days and as I am a busy person who wishes to avoid frustration I will be on vacation until mid August.

I’m trying to embed a Prezi, as well as a map. Here are the embed codes:
<iframe id=”iframe_container” frameborder=”0″ webkitallowfullscreen=”” mozallowfullscreen=”” allowfullscreen=”” width=”550″ height=”400″ src=”https://prezi.com/embed/aatqynzvxeuq/?bgcolor=ffffff&lock_to_path=0&autoplay=0&autohide_ctrls=0&landing_data=bHVZZmNaNDBIWnNjdEVENDRhZDFNZGNIUE43MHdLNWpsdFJLb2ZHanI5dVVuaXhlOGh1dkxTYSs3enMreFM1THhBPT0&landing_sign=ZZWsvhNmgdeH2brxzzWeP5seuRW7VD5eMS45PYEdso0″></iframe>
If wordpress cannot support an embed directly from these sites, then is there a way to make them an object or host the files on a third party site that is supported?
<iframe src=”http://www.hrc.org/state-maps/employment/embed/” width=”760″ height=”700″ frameBorder=”0″ seamless=”seamless” scrolling=”auto”></iframe>

For sites on the Premium Plan and below, iframe is not supported. Quoting @timethief from a similar discussion on Prezi embeds at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/embeed-prezi-into-blog-post?replies=9
The workaround formerly used no longer works. Please read https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/embedding-a-prezi-1?replies=3#post-2520313
If you must use this iframe code, you can choose to upgrade to the business plan. See https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Also quoting staff-zinnia from the same thread:
Due to the code restrictions you won’t be able to directly host the Prezi video on your blog. Upgrading your account won’t change the code restrictions.
If you had the original video file on your computer you could host that directly on your website with a Premium / Business plan upgrade.
Otherwise, free accounts can embed video links via a video service like YouTube.
