WP Multisite advice needed

  Hi, I’ve just set up wordpress multisite for the first time on a brand new website and I’m hoping to get some advice on how to achieve certain functionality so I set off on the right foot.

  What I’m hoping to achieve is for all the sub-directories to be identical sites except for an editable region at the top (for the user to enter their own personal contact details) and for them to have their own blog.

  There are probably a number of ways to approach this but I’m hoping to get some good advice here so I can avoid the pitfalls and headaches that the future might bring from just one wrong setting early on in development.

  Is there a way for me to create a site template and create a new sub-directory site with a few clicks?

  Hi Gareth, it sounds like you’re running your own installation of the WordPress.org software, rather than using the WordPress.com hosting service here (here are the differences).

  Try asking again in the WordPress.org forums where you’re more likely to find people who are knowledgable about multi-site setup.
