WP name servers don't respond to my domain name
-
Hello forum
I got in touch with my registrar because my domain name doesn’t resolve anymore. They told me that from their side everything is fine, that I should contact WP about it because WP name servers don’t respond to my domain name. Since I can’t find any email address for support – can any of you help me and tell me what I can do to have my domain name being properly linked to the WP servers?
Thanks a lot.

You will need to set up Domain Mapping to use your domain with your WordPress.com site:

Domain Mapping is included with all of the WordPress.com Plans:

Hi, thanks for your reply
However I don’t understand why I need to upgrade my plan (I assume this means a paid one) because the domain has worked well during several years! It stopped working 6 months or so ago only? Is this a new WP policy?

Using a custom domain with WordPress.com has always been a paid upgrade. There has never been a free way to do that.
You may have set up a naked redirect through your registrar, which would have been free. But this has the effect of ruining SEO for your site (because individual URLs aren’t displayed) and breaking it on many mobile platforms.
