WP name servers not returning IP address after pointing activated
-
I have my own domain name, and I have sent my web hosting provider your standard email as per your instructions –
“I would like to use my domain with a WordPress.com site. In order to do this, I need to point my domainx92s name servers to the following:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMI do not want to transfer my domain, but want to leave it registered with you. WordPress.com does not permit mapping by setting an A record to point to an IP address. They require the name servers to be updated as described.”
My company tell me they have done the pointing but still my site is showing as phoenixmoonstar.wordpress.com instead of phoenixmoonstar.com. When I called them about this they said that WordPress name servers are not returning an IP address and the problem is at your end. Please fix this or confirm what I need to do to fix this.
Thanks

Are you using these instructions?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Remember it takes 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet

Thank you for your replies auxclass much appreciated. I have realized yes I have forgotten the step of paying for the mapping somewhere along the line. I presume I can do this through dashboard without too much bother?

You should be able to – Dashboard >> store
Follow the instructions in the link I gave you
