WP needs to unmap my Domain Name

I purchased and subsequently cancelled a plan and domain mapping with WP on Nov. 19th. The purchases were swiftly refunded (thank you very much), however: the Domain Mapping that was purchased has not been un-mapped correctly from the WP side.

I purchased both a personal bundle and domain mapping for workingtitlewritings.com. I had a sample WP free blog that was called Working Title Resources. When I wanted to create the blog officially, that Domain Name was taken, so I purchased Working Title Writings instead. Then, I purchased the Personal plan from WP, and the Domain Mapping, to map what was my trial blog over to my real Domain Name.

The WP structure kept the site at a sub-site level, and I was never able to publish or recreate it as a top level site because of this (using other hosting programs and resources as well, trying to force an update in files/SQL, etc etc). Unfortunately, the result is (STILL) my personal URL being redirected to https://en.wordpress.com/typo/?subdomain=workingtitlewritings. It appears on my Domain Mapping refund receipt as ‘workingtitleresources.wordpress.com’, and not ‘workingtitlewritings.com’ In other words, the refunded Domain Mapping receipt is pointing to what was the address of my sandbox blog rather than the actual Domain Name that I set it to map to.

My subsequent efforts with my domain name provider, DNS settings, current web hosting platform etc for Working Title Writings have no other options that are able to be modified to remedy this; it must be addressed from the WP mapping system. I have since deleted the site altogether, and that hasn’t worked either.

This has been a frustrating timewaster but an interesting challenge in finding the problem that no one else at WP or Bluehost could identify. Now I just need WP to fix it.

Note: the attempted URL for that blog (which I own) is workingtitlewritings.com – this is what gets redirected to the WP typo subdomain URL linked above.
