    You can’t

    have a I have a blog on WordPress.org.

because wordpress.org is software. You can however have a blog hosted elsewhere that uses the wordpress.org software. So deleting this WordPress.com account can’t affect a site that is at a server belonging to some other company (unless you use the extremely useful Jetpack plugin on your site which requires an account here to function).
