WP Posting on Facebook

    I’ve spent the last 2 months trying to find out why all of a sudden when I auto-publish my posts onto facebook my feature image no longer appears and where before it used to just show the title of post with a link followed by a image now it just shows part of the post content with a link and no image.

    I have no such issues with twitter however, it is just facebook that seems to not be working.

    I’ve setup a developer ID on facebook and put those details into my SEO program but still no luck.

    The only thing that seems to work is by using the BUFFER plugin but I don’t really want to use that as BUFFER creates it’s own url link meaning my site isn’t recording all the incoming traffic stats correctly.

    Is there a sudden change in how facebook links with WP now and if so, do you know of a fix for this issue?

    If it helps, a few months ago I got an error when trying to upload new files to my site of which I fixed by creating a temp folder and telling my wp.config to direct files to that, would that have a bearing on this issue? And if so, why only facebook is affected?

    hi,

    Your website does not look like it is hosted on WordPress.com.
    We’re able to help only with websites hosted on WordPress.com.

    To clear up any confusion, there are 2 versions of WordPress. WordPress.com is a managed environment different from using the open source WordPress installation. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two, different entities.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    You might check in with your host to see if there’s an error log you could look at for more information. Or, you could look in this forum; perhaps someone there has experienced something similar:
