WP Reset all my students Passwords?!!!!

    I am a technology teacher, my students have all started a WP blog —WP has reset almost all of their passwords (little note when you try to log in), yet there is no email to their account to tell them what the new password is. They then sent in for a new password (set up) and still no access and the emails are not going through. PLEASE HELP!!!!

    Hi there,

    I have never heard of this happening. Maybe this a case of multiple students who were all logging in from the same IP at the same time. If so then that would look like DDS attack.

    If what you are saying is the password reset emails are not being received, then tell your students to check in your email client spam/ junk mail filter as well as under their “social” tab in Gmail, if they use it.

    not there. not in spam, how would I be able to change the email address the blog is connected with?

    I have the emails and passwords of all the students, I have over 400 students using wordpress and 10 cant get on!

    This thread is tagged for Staff and they have a backlog. What’s required is your patience as Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in chronological order based on datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.

    How long it takes to clear the threads and support tickets depends on how many Happiness Engineers are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each thread and ticket are are.

    Please don’t bump your thread here by posting into it again because it’s not in your best interest to post to it after it has been tagged for Staff help. Doing that moves the timestamps forward and it takes longer to get a response.

    and they are all showing recent activity. Were the students able to find the reset links?

    They are active now because I created new accounts with their emails, and when I created the new accounts I used the old emails. This is odd because I did not think you could use the same emails to open an entire new wordpress account if you had one with an existing email! Students are all having to start over!

    I looked into this and the new email addresses do not match the old email addresses exactly. If the students with the new accounts would like to try to get their old sites back they can do so by following the instructions here.

    Recover Your Account

    Since the accounts belong to them, they will need to be the ones to submit the requests.
