WP Staging
-
Hi,
Long ago I tried an SEO plug in, then removed it.
It seems as if, ever since, my site url reads as tgrtranslation.wpstaging.com.
I cannot seem to find what is causing this or change it back to the site’s name, even when I go into the administrator settings of my host and try to manage domains etc. All the responses on-line refer to a specific plug-in that causes this, but I have no plug-ins except anti-spam. Your suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there @tgrtranslation , we have the answers on this one! Our wpcomstaging.com address is the base domain for any site that we host when it needs outside themes or plugins. It uses a different hosting configuration compared to free sites, and even compared to business sites that don’t have plugins installed, so it has a somewhat different address.
Typically, folks who buy a plan that supports plugins will also use a custom domain name for their site, so if you want to register a domain, you’re welcome to do that. It will replace the free address, and anyone who types either that or your old wordpress.com address wil be sent to the correct domain. And that uses a 301 redirect, if you’re curious. You can find domain pricing here, and if you buy an annual plan, you get the domain free for the first year.
Alternatively, the Premium plan does come with some extra SEO features; if you definitely want to keep the free .wordpress.com subdomain, let us know what you’re hoping to do with your SEO, and we may be able to help you meet those needs without the plugin.
