WP Support Staff – please reset my blog import, it’s stuck

Hello Support,
I have done three imports to my blog trying to get about 500 posts moved over (none have been entirely successful). The imports are in WordPress format and I’ve data cleansed and am ready with my final import file, yet my Tools -> Import -> WordPress page says that an import is in progress and it will be 24 hours.
I would like to get this done ASAP, so if you could please reset my blog so that I can import the file one more time, I would appreciate it.

Try breaking the export up into smaller units and importing them instead. That often works.

I know they are gone. They said in the message that they are checking for forum. It isn’t the size. The page isn’t available to me at all to do the import. It’s stuck on a message that says contact support. So thanks, but I still need support to help.

Then I’ll flag this thread for their attention. I don’t know why they do this; surely it’s just as efficient to continue to take regular support tickets rather than force the volunteers to flag threads.

I cleared your import for you and you should be able to restart again.
If this gets stuck again, you can add “modlook” tag and we’ll come take a look. You may need to make the export file smaller to avoid this from happening again, if your export file is huge.
(If you blog is running WordPress 3.0+ or on WordPress.com, you can choose portion of contents to export) -
Hi Naokomc,
The file imported the first time and it is only 2 MB. Interestingly the only thing I changed in the exported file was the image links, from:
http://www.images.com/imagename to http://images.images.com/imagename
I deleted all the posts with the wrong images, removed the duplicated categories and have tried this image countless times now and it will not go.
Can I send you the XML file? Can you look at the import and tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Even when I try to import the original file with the incorrect image links it still does not work. Thanks.

One more thing, I keep getting emails that the import was a success, yet none of the posts are being imported, only the categories over and over again.
I’m so wishing now that I’d left the first import I did last week alone and just gone into all 1000+ posts and changed the image links by hand. :-(
