WP Username Changed, Want It Back?

  I changed my WP username for privacy reasons, and while I understood “You will not be able to change your username back.”, it did not say that the username was completely unrecoverable. (I literally took it to mean only that I cannot change my new username back to the old one).

  I’ve attempted to register under the old username, but no success. Is there any way to get that back? I still hold and own the blog with the old username.

  No, there isn’t.
  I searched for you and this is what Staff, maxmanx has said in another thread:
