WP website with own domain and host

  Welcome,
  I went through the articles as diligently as I could, but I still do not understand how it works.
  I have designed a website draft in WP.com and my client likes it, and would like to have it basically as it is.
  But, she has her own domain name and her own host. And there are the questions I cannot answer:
  – How much does it cost to have the WordPress website with an already existing domain, using WP hosting services?
  – Can she host the WP website on the server of her choice (which does not belong to WP partners)?
  – What would be the costs of having a WP website with her own domain on her own the host?

  I will be really grateful for the answers, because it is my first attempt to use WordPress, and I am really confused.

  Domain Mapping is the upgrade that you want for that. It is $13/yr:

  – Can she host the WP website on the server of her choice (which does not belong to WP partners)?

  She can surely install the WordPress software from WordPress.org on just about any host out there today. However, if you have designed a site on WordPress.com, there is no way to transfer it over exactly to a self-hosted site.

  – What would be the costs of having a WP website with her own domain on her own the host?

  That would depend on the costs charged to her by her host. There is no cost to using the open-source WordPress software from WordPress.org.
