WP widgets does not allow <embed>?

  Hi! I just want to decorate my blog and there is a flash calender code I want to paste on my blog, it’s <embed></embed>, after i saved it in text, it won’t show on my blog. does that mean wordpress does not support <embed></embed>?thank you!
