WP Won't Let Me Have A Blog With Same Name As Username

  I have just tried to sign up for a blog here on WordPress and it allowed me a Username, but it won’t give me the same name for a free blog, only for a paid blog. Why did it allow me to sign up for a Username if I cannot have a blog with the same name as my Username?

  Hi –

  Can you tell me what site address you were trying to register? Do you see it already listed under My Sites ?

  The same as my Username, ‘torchsnaps’, but it only gives me the option (for a free blog) with ‘torchsnaps.video.blog.wordpress.com’. It allowed me the ‘torchsnaps’ username, but won’t allow me to have the blog. Under My Sites it says I don’t have any sites and if I click on ‘Creat Site’ it’s the same thing over and over again, it won’t give me the option for torchsnaps as a free blog. Thank you

  I have now managed to get the free blog. It only took over 4 hours!! I have no idea why it suddenly changed and gave me the correct free option. Thank you.

  I’m glad to hear you were able to use this site address in the end. When I view your account, I can see torchsnaps.wordpress.com listed under My Site which is good news :)
