WP won't recognise IE11

  Hi

  First of all I haven’t logged into wordpress for a while (won’t bore you with reasons why) but FYI I haven’t deactivated my blog as I always intended to come back to it…. BUT for some reason I now can’t access anything.

  FYI I have a Sony Vaio E series laptop, I am using Windows 8.1 with Internet Explorer 11 installed – my laptop automatically updates so I’m pretty sure I have the latest version of everything. When I login to WordPress all I get is a blank screen with a few icons at the top of the page. Clicking on my image used to give me a drop-down menu but no longer. If I click ‘my sites’ on the left hand side, I get a message saying my browser doesn’t support wordpress, so I end up having to select ‘classic wordpress style’ and then the dashboard appears.

  However, once I get into the dashboard nothing works. I can’t get into any of the appearance categories or any other category for that matter. My reader won’t appear, I can’t seem to look at a list of posts – absolutely nothing!

  I can assure you that I have the latest IE version so not sure why the wordpress system won’t recognise it and I don’t want to load Chrome or Firefox so please don’t suggest that! Not sure what the hell is going on – any suggestions?

  Is there a chance you’ve accidentally added WPcom to compatibility mode in IE11? That is a known problem.

  Hi JustJennifer – can’t believe it was that simple, but yes that’s exactly what I did! All is now fixed… don’t understand why.. or how.. just happy it’s fixed
