WPBeginners Hosting Site?

  I was prompted by WPBeginners to create an account with a hosting site, I chose SiteGround. I believed it would help in some way with my WordPress blog I am starting to create. Now that I am looking around there I don’t understand what I need that account for if I’m just writing a blog on WordPress?

  SiteGround is a hosting company that rents you a hosting space on the internet to have your website software running 24/7 and be accessible to the world.

  You would generally host a self-managed open-source copy of WordPress.org software there.

  Thanks Sunil, I assume this WPBeginners is NOT affiliated with WP and I just fell into a marketing scheme to sign up for something?

  No, they are not. They themselves are a company that is well known to provide support documentation and helpful articles but primarily about the open-source WordPress.org software.

  There is nothing wrong about them recommending you a hosting company like SiteGround to host your site.
