WPCHRG.COM charge from bankaccount

  Good morning,

  I have a 13$ charge on my bank account.
  I’ve made a simulation yesterday to upgrade or buy a domain and did not finish the transaction.

  Althought I haven’t filled the banking details and there is no card saved in my account.

  I would like my money back.
  I don’t even know for what I paid.

  Can someone help me?

  Hi, a $13 charge would almost certainly be for a domain mapping upgrade. It is a full charge on your bank account, yes? Sometimes banks display pending transactions or temporary authorizations in a way that looks like a charge.

  There are no recent charges attached to your synonymofhappiness account here. Have you used any other sites or usernames in the past that could be connected?

  Hi,

  Yes, full charge.

  I’ve tried something on bluehost and wix yesterday. (Contacted both)
  However, I did not fill any bank account details.

  By the way, what would be the difference with pending transactions or temporary authorizations? The money would get back on the account if not authorized?
  (Sorry to ask this, I’ve never had the issue before)

  Exactly. A temporary authorization would be from us taking the credit card details you entered and, essentially, asking your bank, “Hey, it looks like this person would like to buy something for $13. Is that going to be okay?” When the bank replies “Yep, totally fine.” we’d then process a charge or confirm card details as valid. It’s kind of like a hand shake between us and your bank.

  Could you contact your bank and see if the $13 is a full charge or just a pending transaction? If it’s not a pending transaction could you email some details to help@wordpress.com to help us track this down? Knowing the full name on your card, any WordPress.com accounts you’ve used in the past, and the date of the transaction would help us narrow this down.

  Hi,

  Just contacted the bank to check out. It’s a temporary authorization.
  So, should we deal with them and ask to reject it, or after authorization ask for refund?

  If it’s temporary it should just fall off automatically in a couple days. I don’t see any actual charges on your account here.

  My hunch is that this authorization came from this part:

  Thanks @synonymofhappiness :) I’m betting the charge was actually under another account. Can you try emailing from the address that gets renewal notices?
