wp.com blogs promotion tools – suggestions/help plz

Hi All,
as wp.com blogs have no java script support, i would like to know in what ways members promoting their blogs? in general we need to link back to blog directories and sites. In link back code they are giving java script code.
ok.. what i want to know is : What are the best ways/sites one can use to promote wp.com blog.

THanks @ thesacredpath, i made quick changes to my blog as per timethief and will follow remaining guide lines also.
one questions – in above mentioned website at end of evry post i am seeing series of social networking icons – how can i put them in my blog ? do i need to purchase any addon for that?

You’re very welcome. Bookmark her blog as she adds new information to help out wordpress.com bloggers nearly everyday.
I think she has insert the social bookmarking icons/links manually each time. Knowing how efficient she is at things, I expect she has them in a text file and just copies and pastes the whole line into her post so she doesn’t have to type it out each time.
Drop a note on one of her posts and ask – unless she sees this thread and answers here.

But when i used html code as mentioned by Timethief —– “This page is not Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional!”
even timethief site also not XHTML valid ? will this effect google ranking as i heard that google repects strict validations.wordpress.com blogs are xhtml 1.0 or 1.1 ? i checkd for both formats. But no use ? this is something i need to takecare or ?

I’ve seen that with most wordpress themes/blogs. On my test blog without any posts, it doesn’t validate. It’s never stopped Google from crawling any of my blogs though. I think for the most part, from viewing the “errors” they are mostly minor and it seems like Google ignores them.
