WP.com domain with Godaddy hosting

    Just went through the setup process and wanted to share detailed instructions how to make wp.com domain work with godaddy hosting.
    (its more than just setting nameservers)

    How to point wordpress.com domain to godaddy hosting

    1. After you have bought hosting at godaddy, you should receive an order confirmation email, subject says Hosting Account Setup. It has the following info:

    Customer #:
    12345678

    Domain:
    yourdomain.com

    FTP Upload path:
    abc.123.ftppath.com

    Nameservers:
    ab12.domaincontrol.com
    ab23.domaincontrol.com

    2. Go to YOURACCOUNT.wordpress.com >> store >> domains

    3. In the dropdown “what would you like to do?” at the bottom of the page choose Make changes to DNS, pick a password and click Manage Your Domains

    4. Login to your account (customer number was provided on the previous page, together with the password that you picked)

    5. Click on your domain

    6. You will see that your are in the Settings tab, Under the Nameservers section click manage, then pick Custom and Enter Custom Nameservers

    7. Move from Settings tab to DNS zone file tab

    8. Just below the Zone File click the Edit button

    9. Edit the A (Host) Points to… and put in the correct IP value (to find out the correct IP, go to your godaddy account, click on your hosting and Launch it. You will be taken to your control panel and in the right bottom corner you will see Server details, IP is right there)
