WP.com not WP.org – Part 2
-
It’s not being ignored as an issue, this thread will not be deleted, I didn’t mark it as spam :)
If you have used the Contact Support form in the last month that is what we will try to get going in here when a new topic is started. I’m talking to Nick about it and we need to talk to Mike to get it done. But this is high on the list – honestly.
We too want help to go to the right places first.

Mark – I have no doubt it is high on the list. Unfortunately for volunteers in the forum, it’s just not high enough on the list. It would be more than nice if you guys would give us an estimate of when it will be done. After all, it’s not as if this issue just came up in September.
(And, to be perfectly honest, the new support form is pretty bad.)
-
However I’d like to thank Mark for letting us know that staff is not ignoring the problem.
@Tess: Thanks for that compliment, but it’s too much of an exaggeration. I think I’m quite familiar with SOME aspects of the workings of our blogs – SOME only. There are members here who know a lot more than me. (One of them figures right above this post.)

Hi pana,
Don’t hassle a fan! >^;^< (sorry for the emoticon, but my great quotations brain is sleepin)
But you are right, thanks to ALL the volunteers in this forum:
vivianpaige, aw1923, devblog, thesacredpath, raincoaster, justjennifer, sulz, timethief, and lots that I can’t remember at the moment (apologies that my memory fails).
The generosity of the volunteers make these forums, and thus WordPress.com, so useable, pleasant, and a great learning resource.
So the post from Mark is good news.
People get burned out doing the same stupid thing over and over, while their suggestions for improvements are ignored. -
I may have found a possibly reason why WP.ORG members are getting confused
and coming over here to WP.COMThis is what I found on the footer of the WP.ORG site

However I think a more likely cause is googling “wordpress forum”. I just tried it, with three different browsers: two of the three gave me com first, org second.
-
The WordPress.COM Support forum tag cloud may I show you it?
Blimey! The WP.org tag shows 686 topics (OK- minus the first 6 since they were before we started tagging) and growing. Are we there yet?

I noticed that a while ago but at the top of the page there is a tab to the forum and its a big tab
-
Just FYI ismyblogworking.com will now direct users to the correct COM or ORG support forum if their blog is powered by WordPress.
-
thats pretty damn cool, so I guess whenever someone doesn’t automatically provide their blog address I could just send them to this site and they can figure out if they are in the right forum…
-
That’s the idea. There are probably cases where it can’t give the right answer (because someone has completely messed up their server or domain settings for example) but it should help. It also recognizes MT, TypePad and a few others.

Hmm…
I don’t know, is this a beta version? ’cause it seems that it has some bugs.
I checked my skins blog and I got this:
Your blog is working.
Sandbox Skins* Your web server [76.74.255.123] is working fine.
* Your RSS feed is available.
* Your blog is a self-hosted WordPress blog.
For support please visit WordPress.org.Maybe it was a glitch?
