WP.com Stats won’t work on externally hosted blog

  Hi.

  I posted this on the wp.org forums but didn’t get a response. I thought I might have better luck here.

  I’m very new to wordpress and have recently set up a privately hosted blog. I have installed and activated the WP.com Stats plugin but it isn’t recording any hits. I have a WP.com account and have linked my API key to the plugin and the blog is listed under “your blogs” on WP.com. I have tried logging out as I understand it doesn’t count hits from the blog owner and have also tried visiting from a different PC but none of it is recorded. The graphs and everything do show on my dashboard but are showing 0.

  Any help would be very much appreciated.

  Did you check your theme footer.php as described in the plugin readme.txt ?
