WP.COM WISHLIST
-
Now that wp.com is two years old, next year I hope to see… (my wishlist)
1. email blogging (send a post through email),
2. normal users able to edit CSS on their page,
3. multiple blogs within one blog… ie. each page on a wordpress blog can be a blog, able to add entries with dates rather than just one blog with static pages.
4. ability to share posts between multiple blogs… one post for two-three blogs (could work with email enabled blogs).
5. A little more space
6. More active community forum… where wordpress users can recommend other wordpress sites to users (like digg, redit etc).
7. editing tracking features (for publishing edit histories)… like wikipedia
8. Themes with flexible column widths (I guess with editable CSS it could work).
9. Ability to search OTHER wordpress.com blogs.
10. Ability to have polls (like orkut) on a blog.ok… all these dreams aside, thank you wp.com for your two-year-old service.

2 and 5 – Not likely to become generally available for free. Automattic make their money by selling those upgrades. Personally I’d rather pay for upgrades than suffer ads everywhere.
3 and 4 – I don’t see the need for that. You can easily simulate it by creating multiple blogs and linking them through the sidebar. And why post the same content to multiple blogs?
6 – Why reinvent the wheel when there are already plenty such sites on the ‘net?
The others are good points :)

for no. 9, try wpfind.com. i have not used it but it was recommended in another thread in the forums.
