WP.com->WP.com export missing featured images

  Hi All,

  I was exporting

  https://accessconsciousnessjp.wordpress.com
  to
  https://accessconsciousnessgr.wordpress.com

  and none of the featured images were exported. Is this simply something the export doesn’t handle? I have 61 featured images, so it would be handy to have.

  I was also surprised that it dropped my custom menu, the header, favicon and template choices. Is this how the export works? Thanks in advance!

  An export only contains your posts, pages and comments.
  It does not contain any media you might have uploaded nor does it have any theme settings. So what you have seen is correct.

  The option to import any media when you import the file into the new blog should be used to bring along the images you want.

  Thanks @Mark. Actually, I did import all the media images. They just disappeared from the featured images, but not from the page copy…so I guess the featured images are not supported in the import?

  Hi there.

  I’m very sorry for the delay in reply here! I can confirm that it’s not possible for featured images to be transferred as part of an import. The actual images will still be imported to your Media Library, and you can then manually set them as featured images on the posts/pages you wish to.
